Aisle Types
Lift trucks are classified due to the types of aisles they have been designed to work in. Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn in the aisle. There are certain aisle widths to consider with various models.
Very Narrow Aisle or VNA trucks operate in less than 6 feet areas and usually use certain guidance systems like optical, rail or wire systems in order to travel within the aisles. Some various models of VNA trucks consist of Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are common kinds in compact retail areas and in several storage and warehouse situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks could operate within aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Usually these are stand-up units like for instance Reach Trucks. They are usually utilized within storage facilities and warehouses.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work within aisles that are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The "Ergomat" padding on stand-up models offer padding on a sloped floorboard. These features are designed to reduce operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the driver is spacious and has an 8" low step height that helps lessen overall body exhaustion by easing frequent exit and entry. The unit includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat along with a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and thus more effective while limiting fatigue.
