Reach Truck
In order to keep storage areas tidy and to store pallets of goods and supplies, a reach truck can be utilized. The reach truck comes in quite a few types: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.
The stand-up is the simplest. The truck forks slide beneath the pallet and move it to the right storage location. The forks slide the pallet into place. This particular kind of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet deep.
Best for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, which is similar to the stand-up, is frequently utilized. This particular model has telescopic forks intended to position the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when one more pallet must go into the same shelving section.
The added advantage of straddle reaches is that they could both slide under the pallet and grasp the sides also. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in multiple directions. This model is best in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
In most warehouses, there are usually more than one type of reach truck. Textile firms and manufacturing facilities utilize different types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to use and can maximize available storage space while increasing productivity.
