At that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to raise and lower the hoist. This device really impressed clients and hence, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, because the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, when the demand for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself recognized in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into manufacturing telehandlers, stick booms, man-lifts, articulated booms and light towers.
Because of the economic recession during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values. They partnered up along with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers throughout the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the first few years following the sale. Thus, all Genie equipment continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their customers. The company is dedicated to continually improving efficiency and quality and is also committed to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering exceptional support. These are the very work practices that have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line machines.
The Bi-Energy and DC equipment provided by Genie offers emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work settings. Where the equipment has to be driven significant distances, like within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the advantages of a 48V DC machine together with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Compared to any of the various types of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide more horizontal reach overall. These equipment are ideal for limited access places in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These machinery deliver the drive speed and supreme traction you need in order to travel around the work site and job area.
