Change an LPG Cylinder
There are different kinds of sources that could power forklifts. They could run utilizing gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for many applications. There are some facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which could be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must truly be careful so as to avoid possible serious injuries. For example: be sure to wear the appropriate safety equipment such as goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize any kind of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
